For 236 years, the United States Marine Corps has kept this country free. In good times and in bad, for Democratic Presidents, and for the good Presidents, our beloved Corps has inspired our nation in patriotism. If you see a Marine in the next few days, say "Happy Birthday." The response may surprise you.

Happy Bithday Marines!
ReplyDelete"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world, the Marines don't have that problem" - Ronald Reagan
CS,
ReplyDeleteThanks. I added the link above. Something the protected will never know - I can sit down anywhere with a former Marine, no matter our stations in life, and we can have a great time. It IS the greatest fraternity.
Right on.
ReplyDeleteHere is a little information for anyone with someone buried at Arlington. To visit the grave, just go into the office, give the name of the soldier and they will give you a windshield placard so you can drive your own vehicle to the grave. You don't have to be related to the soldier. Also, if the headstone seems worn and/or unreadable, a family member can request a new headstone. And just in case someone might forget, always be respectful of ongoing funerals.
ReplyDeleteJeff,
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope to get my children up to DC to see 8th and Eye and Arlington, among other great sites.
It is sad that you have to mention being respectful of ongoing funerals, but the Supreme Court did say Westboro Wackos can protest. Some things should be sacred to all people, so please be respectful of ongoing services, take off your hat, and pull up your pants.
Happy Birthday Marines.
ReplyDeleteLove every one of you.
