House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel picked their representatives to the upcoming budget debate. Boehner is sending Hensarling of Texas, Camp and Upton, both of Michigan. McConnel is sending Kyl of Arizona, Toomey of Pennsylvania, and Portman of Ohio.
This coming fight over budget cuts is already shaping up into another draw. The Dems appointed by Harry Reid want to find 1.3 trillion in cuts by raising taxes on the rich (cause they're not paying their fair share), while these Republicans intend to find cuts by - surprise - cutting spending.
I guess that by November 23rd, after this "Super" group is deadlocked, we'll see automatic cuts. Maybe, just maybe, they won't hurt too bad.
