Why can't people listen to the whole story?

Michele Bachman recently has come under fire for signing a pledge that contained the following quote:

“Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President.".

Read that again.  Read it one more time.  Now point out to me where it says anything about supporting slavery.  Bachman signed the pledge to emphasize her position on marriage and the family.  If you don't think it is a tragic truth that families during the horrible existence of slavery were more likely to stay together than they are today, there is something wrong in your brain housing group.

Slavery was and is a horrible blight on ALL of human history, but I am getting sick and tired of all the losers that seem to think America is the only country in history to allow the practice of slavery.  All of the major civilizations in history had slaves, from the Egyptians to the Mayans.  Slavery has been a blight on all of those civilizations.  But slavery is dead.  No country on Earth has slavery now.  Let it go.

If you are a liberal pinhead like Whoopi Goldberg, you should be disgusted that slaves were better able to maintain a nuclear family than black Americans today.  That is also a blight on our country's history.

  1. The biggest common denominator between prisoners in our prisons and jails is not race, it's not economic background, and it's not education.

The most common denominator that prisoners have in common is that they grew up in single mother households. Regardless of who is responsible (it was liberals) the destruction of the African-American home is the single greatest reason that Black Americans don't realize their potential.

The statement quoted may not be artful, it might not be completely true, and it might be hyperbole - but it illustrates a point that shouldn't be lost. The greatest single social stability program is the traditional American family - a mother and father raising their children.

  2. In the 60's 70% of all balcks were born into married households.

Today, 70% of all blacks are illegitimate.

    Another legacy of the left.

Bachman's comment is on the mark and the left's attack on her is absurd.

  3. TGP, the only reason they're bawling "SLAVERY!" as loud and as often as possible is because after it's repeated a million times...liberals regard it as the truth.

Also in shouting "slavery" it serves to remove the real focus of the point being made...families.

  4. Sepp,

Absolutely. Libs are really good at missing the point.

  5. No, they actually DO get the point in this case. Their problem is the fact that they simply don't like the point that was made because it happens to be true and it's embarrassing to them.

  6. You and Yours, forced my ancestors into SLAVERY.... you are forever indebted to us.

  7. I can tell you for pretty damn sure none of my people ever forced any of your ancestors to do a fucking thing. And if my ancestors did force your ancestors to do anything, I still don't owe you shit.

  8. Slavery is an international phenomena that continues to this day. The enlightened European and most American Nations abolished it though it took time and in many cases much blood. One could argue that liberals, most notably Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez have enslaved entire populations. Liberals are only concerned with historic slavery though - not current slavery.

I wonder if Anonymous is as angry at the black tribes that benefited handsomely from trafficking in slavery.

If slavery was a major concern he/she/it (?) would do something about the practitioners of slavery today rather than bother us about the legacy of an institution that was abolished in the United States nearly 150 years ago. Slavery exists in most countries dominated by fascist (aka. liberal) Muslim oligarchies - you mad about that Anonymous? Those countries are my enemies.

  9. "You and Yours, forced my ancestors into SLAVERY.... you are forever indebted to us."

    LoL!

Nobody is forcing you to stay and, I'd say that tab was paid off already a million times over.
Besides dumbass, everybody's ancestors were slaves to someone else's at one point in history or, another...and you're the only one still crying about it.

You're free, get over it and act accordingly.
