Facebook

I created a Facebook page a few months ago, and have been attempting to figure out what all the fuss is about.  Every name I entered came up empty, so I thought it was targeted at people younger than me.  Until a day or so ago, when I located one old friend, who had located some other old friends, and so on, until I've found nearly everyone I ever knew.  I guess Facebook is pretty neat.

I discovered one old friend who I used to spend quite a bit of time around, (we were both old enough to be grandfathered in when they raised the drinking age in Georgetown) who is apparently in a relationship with a girl named David.  I must admit I was a little creeped out by that, but it didn't shock me.  And now I know the answer to a question Johnny O' asked me when Obama was getting rid of DADT.  The answer is I don't really care, I'm glad to hear the old boy is alive, and presumably happy.  But if he is out screaming for "gay rights", we're not going to get along as good as we used to.

I also discovered a lot of young ladies I had romances with, or wanted to, and I am relieved to know that none of them are fabulously wealthy, so no regrets.  Not that I would trade any of what I have now for money, but, temptation removed, huh?

  1. I understand that facebook is more trouble than it's worth or, at least appears to be.
I see people at work who seem to live only to check on that damned thing every 10 minutes of the day.

  2. Sepp,

I agree people waste time that isn't theirs to waste, but its pretty cool to find people you haven't seen in thirty plus years. Some people have it wired to their phones, which is definitely taking things too far.
