Mud's Trick Question

Note the differences in the two videos.  On mud's clip, Dan Fouts and Doogie Howser edit parts of Herman Cain's interview with some liberal scumbags.  On the full tape, Herman explains his answer and says he cannot answer a trick question with a simple yes or no.

Not a great performance for a politician, but then again, Herman Cain makes no claims to be one.

  1. Tenth,

Good post - you wouldn't want Mud_PILE to actually tell the truth would you? That just isn't the Liberal (Democrat, Socialist, Progressive, whatever) way.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Guy,
I hope you're not holding your breath for an honest reply from the PILE.

As with all things liberal, the narrative is adjusted to fit the narrative. That is the only truth about liberalism.

  3. Hold the phone.....

....First he stumbles for an answer. He himself admits he's still studying world politics.

Then he says he would have assessed the situation first.

Then he says he isn't able to assess the situation because he's not privy to all the facts.

Then he goes back to saying he would have assessed the situation first and he doesn't approve of the way it was handled.

Two obvious things come to mind. How does he know that the situation WASN'T assessed first if he wasn't privy to the information? And not being privy to all the information, how does he know he disapproves?

Not being privy to all the information has never stopped him from commenting before.

(Now seriously, some of you answered Mr.Mud's question as if you had no idea that he was referring to this TV interview. The interview was the lead story all over TV and the Internet.)

  4. Jeff,

I am not defending him for his stumbling, incoherent answer, I am simply pointing out that Mud, and apparently you too, are more interested in character assassination than in solving problems. Mr. Cain said he couldn't say if he approved or disapproved of Obama's actions on Libya. He stumbled around while saying it, but that's what he said.

You claim you aren't a racist - but you must realize the tactics used by the left every time someone disagrees or disapproves of Obama could easily be applied here. So are you against Herman Cain because of the color of his skin, or the content of his character?

    ReplyDelete
  5. NW Ohio,

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board interviewed Cain about a variety of subjects. You can see from the quality of the video, angle, etc. that this wasn't a production intended to be released.

I guess that you can make the point that a candidate should always be "on" - but this was an interview with the print media and not a television appearance.

Is your point that he shouldn't have attempted to clarify the purpose or direction of the question? I think that was wise. Think of the hit job they did on Sarah Palin over "Bush Doctrine" in an interview when such "doctrine" was only known to the interviewer. He made it up.

I will grant you that pausing to give a thoughtful answer doesn't look good on TV - but given the specific environment that he was in, I think it was pretty smart. It also prevented him from giving the kind of rambling non-answer that you typically get from President Obama.

Do you think that the Obama administration adequately determined who the opposition in Libya was? Should we have known that they would declare Sharia law after seizing power? Should we have received some assurances from these people about weapons caches BEFORE we started bombing the legitimate government of Libya?

If the administration did assess the Libyan situation, they did a piss-poor job and the most qualified people in the administration opposed the action. It turns out that they were right.

Lastly - the story may have been a big splash on whatever you refer to as "news" but it didn't make much of a ripple elsewhere. Indeed actual news pointed out the pause followed by the fact that he actually answered the question.

  6. Then again, Obama DID have all the available intel at his disposal...except for "Who" these rebels are and what their goals after ousting Daffy would be and, Obama became the defacto rebel air force commander.

Now, the world is getting another islamic nutcase republic that has a vast stockpile of modern weapons that neither Obama nor, anyone else has any idea as to who is in control of them.

    Brilliant plan.

  7. 3 AM phone call??

"Ah...wait while my mind clears...could you repeat the question, general?

Too funny. But then, we on the other side have been enjoying the burlesque show that has been running on the right-side of the alternate universe.

    Newt??

    ReplyDelete
  8. TGP - I've heard you ask me that question before, but it seems worded better this time. I have been called a racist so many times for disagreeing with Obama, I've lost count but still expect it every time. What gets me is that the person doing the name calling is actually the racist. You have to admit President Obama does have a great mind. And a mind that can come up with an idea that is not based on race. And disagreeing with that idea doesn't make one a racist. My thought is just because a person is of color, doesn't mean they can't come up with an original idea that not everyone will agree with based on facts not including someone's race. I think the term is "damned if you do, damned if you don't".

Ever hear the phrase "the first you do when you dig yourself into a hole is to stop digging"? Responses from Mr. Cain in subsequent interviews regarding this interview only appear to reinforce the view that he is weak when it comes to foreign affairs.

Come on now, seriously? I don't know about you, but a President this weak in foreign affairs would scare the hell out of me. And just how long are pauses where you live?

    ReplyDelete
  10. "Come on now, seriously? I don't know about you, but a President this weak in foreign affairs would scare the hell out of me."

    And you voted for OBAMA?

A guy who barely had ANY experience as a congressman and damned near ZERO employment history other than "community organizer".

You're actually questioning a man's qualifications who worked his way up from lower middle class to multiple manager and CEO positions after you elected a race hustling clown into the whitehouse who not only had ZERO foreign policy experience but he had almost ZERO domestic policy experience!
Obama barely has a work record that can match a night shift bowling alley manager's resume!

But, you'll vote for him over Cain because Cain doesent read everything from a teleprompter.

Ever seen Obama when his teleprompter goes on the fritz? He's lucky to be able to tell which of the 57 states he's standing in.

    ReplyDelete
  11. "And you voted for OBAMA?"

There you go again telling fibs again. I have stated many times on this blog and other blogs I VOTED FOR McCAIN.

And the reason I voted for him was Obama's lack of experience. At the time I just assumed McCain hadn't picked a nut case for Vice President*. You either have a horrible memory and just like to stir up s*** because I first came across you discussing this very issue.

    * I also voted twice for Bush because of the Democrat Vice President candidates in 2000 and 2004. Lieberman's ties to Israel concerned me and Edwards made his millions sueing the American Red Cross for HIV tainted blood they passed on BEFORE there was even a test for it. Gays are barred from donating blood, but it seems that even hetrosexuals have A.I.D.S. and they still donate blood.

    ReplyDelete
  12. WELL DONE Leatherneck, you really stirred up the crybaby libtards. They can't stand up to facts and reason and have to resort to lies.

Make SURE you check out the Anti Liberal Zone tomorrow...fire and brimstone brother.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thats right NWO you DID mention that you voted for McLame. I must have forgotten it was you who said that.
You must have posted that under one of the other names you use.

BTW, I'm hetrosexual and can't donate blood to the Red cross either.
    Know why?
Because I was deployed to Germany for an extended period and,to other places that have heavy metals in the water supply or, insects that can bite and leave parasites in the bloodstream.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sepp,

Same here, for Desert Storm. Supposedly no blood or organs, although I have a little heart on my drivers license.

  15. MudPILE,

I bet Cain won't take four MONTHS to make a decision.

    ReplyDelete
  16. THAT is funny TGP!

F'ing Obama took 6 months to pick out a dog then another 3 months to decide to name it after himself.

    Mr Decisive!

Although his administration wasted no time at all in begging Solyndra to postpone announcing it's layoffs and bankrupcy until AFTER the midterms.

  17. RING! RING! RING! [3AM]

    Who is this?
    What?
    Let me clear my mind.
    OK.
    OK.
Now, General, who did you say?

    The president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan?

Got all this stuff twirling around in my head.

    Let me think a moment.

Sorry, General, you'll have to call back later and talk to my foreign adviser about this.

    His extension is 9-9-9.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Mud-PILE,

I do find that preferable to the current temporary occupant of the White House who would say:

"Uh, um, duh, uh, mmm. Teleprompter up!"

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is it just me or does it seem that some people aren't aware of what a teleprompter does?

    ReplyDelete
  20. NW Ohio,

I've used one once. I suspect that you are making another non-point.

The teleprompter is a problem for two reasons:

    (1) He can't talk without one, and more importantly,

    (2) We don't have any idea who is feeding him his lines. That writer is more the President than Obama and we didn't elect him.

    ReplyDelete
  21. "(2) We don't have any idea who is feeding him his lines. That writer is more the President than Obama and we didn't elect him."

    Hahahaha!

So Obama is just a modern version of a vantriloquist's dummy?

  22. Say, does anyone here speak 'Cuban?' Cain needed a 'Cuban translator' this afternoon, but neither he nor his staff could find one.

If you know someone who speaks Cuban, please call Cain's Campaign ASAP!

    ReplyDelete
  23. When Cain needs someone who speaks liberal turdese, we'll give him your number.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mud_PILE,

The Cuban translator was standing right next to the Austrian translator.

    ReplyDelete
  25. C'mon CS
You know that when Obama says something stupid it's always a "miss-spoke" instead of plain ignorance.

Besides that, muddy probably has no idea what you mean by "Austrian" since the news he watches is very carefull to cover Obama's ass lest the moonbats find out he isn't God.

    ReplyDelete
  26. So let me see if I 'got' your answer, CS, Tenth and Sepp.

Cain is a dumbass charlatan pretending to be worthy of the presidency and you love him because he's just as ignorant as you?

    Did I interpret that correctly?

    Cuban??

Do any of you speak Brazilian?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mud_PILE,

The odds of you interpreting an answer or the obvious truth of something are about as remote as lightening striking you, me, and -Sepp simultaneously. No you did not.

As -Sepp pointed out, the mainstream media from which you get your "news" (along with daily updates on Lindsey Lohan) goes out of their way to pick apart everything that a legitimate and accomplished man (Cain) says while it hides or fails to report the gaffs, fumbles, and genuine lack of understanding in a man of no accomplishment (Obama).

Since you probably missed this one on the Communist News Network:

"It was also interesting to see that political interaction in Europe is not that different from the United States Senate. There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian, wheeling and dealing." --confusing German for "Austrian," a language which does not exist, Strasbourg, France, April 6, 2009

There are a treasure trove of Obamaisms - you don't even have to look very hard. He's just slightly less gaff-prone than Joe Biden. Maybe that's why he wanted Biden around.

Is there a "corpse-man" out there?

"Hold on one second, sweetie, we're going to do -- we'll do a press avail." --to a female reporter for ABC's Detroit affiliate who asked about his plan to help American autoworkers

  28. I wonder, Tenth, if you, too, are worried about al Qaeda and the Taliban getting a foothold in the new government of Libya?

Herman Cain today: Do I agree that they now have a country where you've got Taliban and al Qaeda that's going to be a part of the government?"

He's dumber than a rock which is why, no doubt, you and the posse like him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. After a devastating tornado hit Kansas, Obama discussed the tragedy without help from a teleprompter, saying, ''In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died—an entire town destroyed.'' He was only off by 9,988 as the twister killed 12 people.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "Do I agree that they now have a country where you've got Taliban and al Qaeda that's going to be a part of the government?"

Well since not even Obama has a clue as to who is in charge of Libya now, who's to say id he IS wrong?
As for Al-Quaida in Libya, all the ones that Daffy knew about were released from his jails he was keeping them in as soon as the Obama-supported rebels got to them.

And now Hamas is claiming that they have possession of some of Daffy's missile stockpile.

So, yeah Herman has his terror groups mixed up but, Obama gave them new weapons...who is really the idiot in this?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tenth replies, Mud, You're dumber than a rock, and none of us like you - what's your point?

Interesting comment, Tenth and quite telling as well.

So I'M the one dumber than a rock? Is that because you say so? I hate to brag, but I'm sure that I'm just a bit smarter than any of the posse. Not only that, but I don't support ignorant presidential candidates like Cain or Perry. Neither is intellectually fit to run this nation.

It it truly sad that you and the posse here are so idealistically fixed on some right-wing ideology that you can be blinded to the ineptness of these two clowns.

Or do you like them because they are ignorant?

"And none of us like you."

No kidding! Why is that, Tenth? Why doesn't anyone here 'like' me? Surely you know why, don't you, Tenth? It's because I offer an alternate viewpoint to many of the comments and posting made here. And you and the posse don't like criticism. You'd rather be happy all by yourselves in this alternate universe in which you dwell.

The posse likes their own parochial world of right-wing idealism and anyone who challenges that ideology is an ENEMY. An enemy worthy of denigration. Just look at all of the insults that are thrown at me when I offer my opinion. It's quite childish, of course, but then, I'm not sure that the posse operates on a fully-functioning adult level.

I wonder how each of you would be on a one-on-one conversation with me- devoid of the bluster that accompanies each nasty comment from the rest of the posse?

You DO realize, Tenth, that the five of you act like an urban gang operating in the inner city? Your gang has the same rituals and the same gang-like features of a black or Latino gang which, I'm guessing, you all despise.

Or didn't you realize that? Or didn't you want to admit that?

Gang-thinking, gang-cover, gang-warfare right here on TenthGenerationPatriot blogspot.

    Gangs. How pathetic, how juvenile.

You may have noticed that the insults, denigration and virtual-spitting on me don't keep me away from your blog. I'm a crusty old guy who as lots of scars from punks and idiots throughout my life, so the kind of shit thrown at me rolls off like rain.

I have to compliment you, Tenth, in the fact that you have not closed down free speech by moderating this blog. Both you and Sepp at least have the balls to accept a difference of opinion on your blogs. The three other panty-waists are afraid of an invasion of their territory.

So, as long as you keep an open door policy on this blog, I'll take that as a welcome mat to share my opinions with you.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Mud,

When are you gonna start sharing your opinions? All you really do is hurl insults.

Why don't we like you? How about:

"I hate to brag, but I'm sure that I'm just a bit smarter than any of the posse. Not only that, but I don't support ignorant presidential candidates like Cain or Perry. Neither is intellectually fit to run this nation."

The President you support is ignorant, and his competence is RUINING this country. You are an enemy. Mud. The posse members you seem to loathe have all sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution - have you? I think not.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Mud_PILE,

I wish that you would offer an opinion or some modicum of proof for your way of thinking. However you have not.

On the rare occasion that you have engaged in a valid discussion - you question, question, question, evade the truth, then insult and ridicule.

Why didn't you chime in on the Voter Fraud thread to any degree? Touchy subject for the people of the left? No doubt.

I have dealt with liberals (democrats, socialists, progressives, whatever) all my life. Not one liberal has ever acted in my presence the way you do on this blog - I wouldn't put up with it and they know it. Liberals are for the most part cowards. The hippies of my generation would brave a police line but wouldn't fight for their country.

I moved through the Occupy DC crowd for several hours handing out US Constitutions and talking with the kiddies recently and have recorded the result on my blog. Those tools of liberalism don't really have a clue what they are doing and it reminded me of their useful-idiot parents or grandparents of my teens.

I challenge you to attend a TEA movement rally. I can tell you that you would be utterly safe if you did. The only violence ever performed at a TEA movement rally was perpetrated by SEIU thugs beating up a black man for selling patriotic paraphernalia - he wasn't acting in accordance with SEIU's racist view of the world.

I always laugh out loud when I see you writing about your "scars" and battles. You don't know the first thing about real battle.

Here's a little taste for you - read about a real hero:

We've done that plenty of times muddy before you handed your site over to the moonbat brigade and it jumped the shark.

"It it truly sad that you and the posse here are so idealistically fixed on some right-wing ideology that you can be blinded to the ineptness of these two clowns."

Have you noticed Obama's last two years? It's been one foolish move after another when he wasn't on vacation or, hitting the greens.

You were so fixated on electing the first black guy into office, that you never bothered to question his qualifications or, his history. In fact, you dismissed any information you did'nt like or, just plain did'nt want to believe.

Now you are witnessing it daily yet, still refuse to believe what you're seeing and hearing.

So, Cain isn't a polished and a Romney-esque slickster, he has a nice record of success and a resume full of results.

Perry certainly isn't my first choice either but, oddly enough, the state of Texas is doing rather well under his leadership.

How is America doing under Obama?

    ReplyDelete
  37. "I hate to brag, but I'm sure that I'm just a bit smarter than any of the posse. Not only that, but I don't support ignorant presidential candidates like Cain or Perry. Neither is intellectually fit to run this nation."

What is false about these statements?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love it when liberals try and announce to everyone how smart they are in hopes that someone will buy it.

    So, lets sort this out,

Neither Cain nor, Perry are fit to run the nation...regardless of what they're records and experience say.

But, Obama who before being elected to office had a resume that comprised of race hustling banks ala "community organizing" and, minor here and there gigs where he never really had to lead anyone, solve problems, make a payroll or, assume responsibility for an employee...
Yet, you poured your heart into getting him elected?

The night manager at a bowling alley has more responsibilities to account for than Obama did before being elected president.

So, looking at YOUR record of judgement as to who is fit to lead, why would anyone take your oppinion seriously on the issue?

Then again, being black was the only qualification you'd ever mentioned anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mud_PILE,

Didn't your Mommy love you? You seem to have a pretty severe self esteem problem too.

If you were "a bit smarter" than anyone else (much less everyone else), you wouldn't have to trumpet it - your intellect would be obvious to all. It isn't. You haven't provided any evidence of advanced intellect - or is there a Federal Board of some kind that we are unaware of that issues certificates in that? Can we see it?

The very fact that you are continually confronted with evidence of your bankrupt positions yet can't see the error of your ways rules out unusual intellect.

But you keep up that "everybody is stupid but me" line of thought. It's worked so well for you liberals in the past. Did you all sit around consoling yourselves after both of Reagan's victories and after both of G.W. Bush's victories by saying "but they are so dumb!?!"

Get ready to do it again in 2012.
